Massage Therapy
The origins of Massage Therapy can be traced back over 5,000 years when it was considered to be a fundamental component of natural health and healing.
Today, it still remains a popular therapy, but something people turn to more as a means of ‘fixing’ a problem, for example a sporting injury, rather than a regular therapy used to maintain wellbeing and physical and mental balance.
There are many benefits to be gained from Massage Therapy. As well as treatment for aches and pains and a means of releasing muscle tension, massage improves circulation and the flow of lymph within the body. It encourages healing, reduces anxiety and stress, can help to relieve chronic pain and aids sleep and relaxation.
I was very fortunate to study Massage Therapy, Anatomy and Physiology at the brilliant St Catherine’s Hospice training facility in Crawley, just over 20 years ago.
It gave me a really broad perspective and insight into the deeply therapeutic power of ‘touch’, and allowed me to develop both a scientific and spiritual approach as a therapist.
I work with only 100% pure, organic oils during treatments and am able to blend essential oils to suit individuals.
